After years on Wall Street, I left my career in search of a new path. During my weekends in Greenport, L.I., I began to envision a Wine Bar on the North Fork similar to those I appreciated in Europe, Northern California, and New York’s East Village. Towards this end, I completed coursework and certifications at the American Sommelier Association and the Institute for Culinary Education. More importantly, I began to eat, drink and travel with a vengeance! While planning my new venture I took on a position as Sommelier for Nick & Toni’s restaurant in East Hampton, NY. In 2006 I opened VINe Wine + Cafe in Greenport. In 2010 I opened First Street Restaurant next door to VINe. In 2012 I sold VINe Wine + Cafe and First Street Restaurant to start VINe Portfolio.
